The project
I integrated a 96 V DC motor into a modified golf-cart platform. The work covered both sides of an electric drivetrain: installing the electrical components that deliver and control power, and building the mechanical systems needed to put that power to the ground.
Integrate the powertrain
Replaced the existing propulsion setup with a 96 V DC motor and incorporated a custom-machined drivetrain into the platform.
Build the electrical system
Designed and installed high-current wiring, controllers, and safety-related hardware around the motor system.
Debug under load
Traced power-delivery and motor-behavior issues while the system operated under real mechanical load.
What it developed
The conversion demanded system thinking: electrical choices affected packaging and mechanical behavior, while mechanical changes altered the load seen by the electrical system. It strengthened my ability to move between wiring, controls, fabrication, and troubleshooting as parts of one problem.
